"Paleum (八音)" – A Traditional Korean Music Performance Poster
"Paleum" (八音) refers to the eight materials used in crafting traditional Korean court music instruments: metal (金), stone (石), silk (絲), bamboo (竹), wood (木), leather (革), gourd (匏), and clay (土). This classification method was first recorded in Jungbo Munheon Bigo in Korea.

This experimental poster design embodies the essence of Paleum, not just as a pursuit of beauty or technical musical development, but as a representation of the deeper meaning within Korean music. The poster incorporates the textures of the eight materials and visualizes the harmony between sound, human life, and nature.

The performance explores the connection between these materials and the fundamental aspects of human existence, such as birth and death, the environment, time, attitudes toward life, and human relationships. By integrating these elements into the visual composition, the poster serves as an artistic extension of the performance itself.
